The unit that was demonstrated consisted of 4 Hovair air bearings housed in round steel modules, mounted at each corner of the base unit and operated by a single cylinder of compressed air. Also used was a smaller cylinder of carbon dioxide for visual and audible effects. |

Finally, Jay Leno was seated in the chair and David Willey demonstrated just how easy a sizeable weight - that of Jay Leno and the weighted base - could be moved around effortlessly by one person. The demo culminated with Jay Leno being propelled downstage, hovercraft fashion, into a pile of rubber bowling pins. |

This demo illustrated just how easy it is to link a few individual air bearings into a set and use their power to lift heavy weights. Moreover, it showed how easy it is for just one person to manage a heavy load quite safely and efficiently.
